Technical Lead (AI Agents & Knowledge Graph Systems)

The Umanitek Guardian Agent protects people from deepfakes and digital impersonation by combining Decentralized Knowledge Graphs (DKG) with perceptual intelligence.

Technical Lead will guide the engineering and product delivery of the Umanitek Guardian agent and deploying Guardian agent networks. You’ll be responsible for coordinating the team of engineers to deliver high-quality, interoperable systems, while interfacing directly with clients, partners, and the open source community. This is a hands-on leadership role: you’ll write code, design architectures, and ensure that everything we build, from MCP tools to DKG features, contributes to the wider Guardian codebase.

Responsibilities:

• Lead technical direction and architecture for Guardian and its DKG-based Guardian Network
• Responsibility for delivery – overseeing and drive engineering team (data, AI, frontend, infrastructure)
• Collaborate with clients and partners to define integrations and solution requirements
• Maintain alignment between Umanitek product evolution and OriginTrail DKG roadmap
• Review and guide code contributions across repositories (Python, Node.js, Rust, etc.)
• Mentor engineers, uphold technical excellence, and foster open-source collaboration

Technical experience that is most relevant to us:

• 5+ years of software engineering experience, 2+ in a technical leadership role
• Strong grasp of system architecture, APIs, and distributed applications
• Experience coordinating multi-disciplinary teams and managing delivery timelines
• Familiarity with semantic web tech (RDF, SPARQL), LLM/AI systems, and decentralized infrastructure
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
