Zug, Switzerland, December 2, 2025: Umanitek, a company focused on increasing trust and safety of Artificial Intelligence, today announced the appointment of Laurie Segall to its Advisory Board.
Laurie is an award-winning journalist and one of the world’s most respected voices on the intersection of technology, society, and human impact. She will bring her deep expertise and global perspective to Umanitek’s mission of building a safer internet. Laurie will join Umanitek as an advisory board member.
A former senior tech correspondent at CNN and a reporter for 60 Minutes, Laurie is known for asking the questions others avoid, translating complex technology for real people, and amplifying the human stories behind the code. She has interviewed many of the most influential figures shaping our digital future, including Mark Zuckerberg, Sam Altman, and Tim Cook. She is also the author of Special Characters: My Adventures with Tech’s Titans and Misfits and has been widely recognized for her work spotlighting women in tech and exposing emerging threats in disinformation and digital harm.
Laurie is also the Founder and CEO of Mostly Human, a creator driven ecosystem for expert voices, companies, and institutions focused on bridging the gap between technology and society. Mostly Human and Umanitek have also entered into a corporate partnership capitalizing on Laurie’s track record of translating technology into human impact – aimed at positioning Umanitek for a global launch of its AI Guardian Agent.
Mostly Human has gained global attention for exposing abuse-enabled technologies and harmful online ecosystems. Most recently, the team’s investigative series Searching for Mr. Deepfakes helped identify the anonymous perpetrator behind one of the internet’s largest deep fake pornography sites, contributing to its eventual shutdown.
Umanitek looks forward to working closely with Laurie Segall and Mostly Human as we continue our shared commitment to AI safety, integrity, and human-centered digital governance.
